Hey everyone and happy holidays! We celebrate Christmas in my family, so I am going to give a rundown on the books that I bought or received this holiday season, with a short synopsis for each!

1.) Spectacular

Spectacular is a novella based in Stephanie Garber's world of Caravel. It takes place in the familiar setting of Valenda and follows Tella as she tries to find a gift for Legend for The Great Holiday. If you want to read more about this book, check out this post!!

2.) The Fragile Threads of Power

The main reason I purchased this book is because I read The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue last year and absolutely loved it, but I have yet to read anything else by V.E. Schwab. I'm not sure if this was the best one to pick to read next though because it is set seven years after the A Darker Shade Magic series. Regardless, I was intrigued by this book because it is about four worlds that are all connected to the city of London, which I just visited this year. I thought it would be fun to read a book set there after just being there, but I'm thinking I may need to invest in the Shades of Magic series first.

3.) A Study in Drowning

I have been eyeing this book for quite some time, mainly because the cover is just absolutely gorgeous. So naturally, when I was browsing the books in Target and saw one last copy of this book in the special edition, I had to buy it. This edition has a book shelf printed on the page edges, and it is so pretty! Anyways, this book is a cross between historical fiction and a Gothic mystery, which is a bit different from my regular reads, but sometimes I'm in the mood for something a little different. Plus, it's a enemies-to-lovers!

4.) Kingdom of the Wicked series

This is a fantasy romance series where the villain falls for the girl, so obviously it was an automatic yes. The real reason I asked for this series as a gift is because I bought Throne of the Fallen at a discount bookstore over the summer, but didn't realize that it was set in the same world as this series (seems like a reoccurring trend...I need to work on that). Anyways, it worked out in my favor because I read about The Kingdom of the Wicked series and it seemed right up my alley! The first book follows an undercover witch named Emilia who is searching for revenge against her sister's killer. She teams up with one of the Wicked (who apparently are princes from Hell) to solve her sister's murder.
