Here's an overview and quick review of all the books I've read in December!!

Spectacular by Stephanie Garber

4.8 stars

This is a holiday novella set in the world of Caraval, one of Garber's trilogies. This book is set during the Great Holiday, which gave the most perfect, magical vibes for the holiday season. It even had a bit of a mystery plot, which was so fun. I was so at home returning to this world and these characters. I loved seeing Tella and Legend's relationship grow beyond Finale! A must read for the holidays, but be sure to read Caraval first.

The Vanishing Stair by Maureen Johnson

4.3 stars

This is the second book in the Truly Devious trilogy. The first book, Truly Devious, was a 5 star book for me, but this one didn't quite match up. Don't get me wrong, it's still an AMAZING book, but it just wasn't as enjoyable as the first for me. It is pretty common for me not to like the second book as much in trilogies just because so much is still being added to the plot without much answers on how if all fits together, which isn't as exciting to me as the first and third books if that makes sense, and I felt that way with this book. I will definitely be continuing the series though because it was still super good!

The Hand on the Wall by Maureen Johnson

5 stars

Okay so if I could go back and change my rating for The Vanishing Stair I would with having read the last book in the Truly Devious trilogy. Everything came together so seamlessly when I honestly did not see how a few murders from the past could be related to ones that occurred in the future. I was completely stunned. I will say, I did guess the killer, but was completely blown away with how it all fit together between the past and the present. This book was absolute genius. Definitely go read this series!
