Here's an overview and quick review of all the books I've read in November!!

Powerful by Lauren Roberts

5 stars

This is a novella from the Powerless series that follows Paedyn's best friend Adena during the events of the trial. This book was straight up heart-wrenching, and somehow knowing the ending ahead of time from reading the previous book made it even harder. Definitely read if you love bawling your eyes out in the dead of night (but be sure to read Powerless first)!!

Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson

5 stars

I haven't picked up this good of a mystery book since reading A Good Girl's Guide to Murder like 5 years ago. I usually get bored by the private school murder type books because it often feels like they are all the same, but this book TRULY (ha ha) surprised me. The characters are so unique and make this book extra special! I honestly haven't read a book so intensely in a long time.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

4.5 stars

My greatest embarrassment as a reader is that I love the Hunger Games movies but have never read the books. I have picked them up so many times in bookstores, but am too ashamed to have people see me buy them so late in the game. I finally listened to the audio book and it was really fun to compare the book and the movie. Actually reading Katniss' thoughts gave me a whole new perspective.

The Pumpkin Spice Cafe

3.75 stars

I have seen this book all over social media this fall, so I was very excited to read it. I'm usually not into romance books because I don't like romance to be the main focus of the plot, but I was pleasantly surprised. There was a lot of internal conflict and character development between the two main characters within and separate of the relationship, which kept the book interesting. There was even a bit of a mystery plot going on, so that was really fun! Overall, it's a really cute fall read that makes you want to snuggle with your cat while sipping a pumpkin spice latte, but not my fav.
