Reckless by Lauren Roberts

Reckless is the second book in the Powerless trilogy! I absolutely love Paedyn and Kai and felt so happy to be back in their worlds. I didn't find this book as action-packed and exciting as Powerless, but it definitely was a lot more emotional (as in it had me bawling even more than I usually do when I read her books). Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros

This was a re-read for me in preparation for Onyx Storm. Iron Flame is the second book in the Empyrean series, coming after Fourth Wing. It was so fun to re-read this book and notice all the little details that I missed. Yarros is the queen of foreshadowing, but somehow I always fail to pick up on it lol. I took a lot of time analyzing this book more than reading it for enjoyment, but this whole series really is just mind-blowing, and I love every second of it.

I am still currently reading this book, but I can give some spoiler free thoughts on what I think of it so far. And let me tell you, it is FUNNY. That was not at all what I was expecting from this book, but it actually has me laughing out loud more than any book has in a long time. Some of the stuff isn't even supposed to be funny either, but it's just so bluntly put that it has me laughing in some of the most dire moments. Maybe that's because my favorite character is more present than in the previous books...
